My dog is missing, what should I do?

Call (607) 607-427-9291 to speak with the Dog Control office. If closed, follow the instructions given.
When should I license my dog?
All dogs four months of age or older that are owned or harbored in the Town of Vestal must be licensed. Proof of spaying and neutering and proof of rabies are required.
How do I license a dog?
If you live in Vestal you may obtain a dog license by filling out this form License letter and bring it or mail it to the Clerk's office.
Do you take dogs that are no longer wanted by their owners?
No, you can contact the Front Street Dog Shelter at (607) 778-2493 for this service.
Do you handle cats or other animal complaints?

Do you have a list of Rabies Vaccination Clinics?
The Broome County Health Department sponsor Rabies Clinics throughout locations in Broome County. All pets (dogs, cats, ferrets) must be at least 12 weeks old and properly restrained by the owner or responsible adult. If the pet has had a prior vaccine, please bring the rabies vaccination certificate with you. A $5.00 donation is requested.
